The Logarska dolina Valley
The Logarska dolina Valley is about 30 kilometres far from Ljubno and is one of the most beautiful alpine glacial valleys in Europe. It lies in the lap of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and is surrounded by beautiful rocky mountains. It is a place where tradition and nature live in harmony. The valley is protected as a landscape park. It is a fine example of sustainable development.
There is a 7-kilometre-long footpath that runs along the road and leads to the parking place at end of the valley. A 15 minute-walk will lead you to the 90-metre-tall Rinka waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls in Slovenia. Situated on top of rock, there is a refreshment post called the Eagle's Nest. Above the rocks to the Okreselj, there is the spring of the Savinja River, which disappears underground not far from the waterfall and resurfaces again in the middle of the valley as a clean and bright stream called the Crna.
There are many footpaths, marked views and panoramic routes in the vicinity of the Logarska dolina Valley, as well. The visiting of this valley will leave you with indelible impressions and memories of the beauty of nature and culinary delights. If you enter the valley by a motor vehicle, you must pay an entry fee. However, if you are entering the valley by bike, on foot or with an electric vehicle, the entry fee is free of charge.
